“I’ve always been a staunch advocate for alternative dispute resolution, recognizing its ability to move parties beyond the sometimes adversarial ‘battle mode’ of a trial toward meaningful resolution. Biography

With over 30 years of litigation experience, including more than 60 civil jury trials, Julianne Pinter brings a steady, informed, and empathetic approach to her work as a mediator and arbitrator. She has participated in more than one thousand mediations and arbitrations, giving her a deep understanding of how parties evaluate risk, process conflict, and move toward resolution. Julianne has been involved in hundreds of arbitrations and understands the unique evidentiary challenges involved in streamlining hearings while maintaining the integrity of evidentiary due process. Her extensive trial experience further informs her ability to carefully analyze evidence and assess witness testimony with fairness and rigor. Her transition to full-time neutral work reflects her longstanding belief that mediation and arbitration offer parties clarity, control, and meaningful alternatives to the strain of protracted litigation.

Her mediation style is grounded in preparation, patience, and practical problem solving. She listens closely, frames issues clearly, and helps parties identify the legal, evidentiary, and personal factors that shape their positions. Parties appreciate her calm presence, ability to defuse tension, and commitment to understanding each participant’s concerns. Julianne approaches mediation as a collaborative process, guiding parties toward options that are realistic, well-informed, and suited to their goals. In cases involving heightened emotions, she is particularly skilled at identifying roadblocks that prevent settlement, maintaining productive dialogue, and keeping participants focused on resolution. She is known for parachuting into cases that historically struggled to settle, achieving results by reviewing matters through an unbiased lens and helping parties realistically assess how a jury would likely view the evidence. Thus, Julianne has settled hundreds of cases hurtling towards trial due to her willingness to step into the fire to create a bridge of communication with her voice of reason.

Julianne focuses her practice on employment, entertainment, and technology disputes, as well as trade secrets, non-profit, healthcare, and complex business matters. Throughout her career, she has represented clients ranging from successfully defending Fortune 25 and Fortune 500 companies to emerging start-ups and nonprofit organizations, as well as achieving multimillion dollar judgements and settlements for claimants whom she represented. This breadth of experience enables her to see both sides objectively and engage effectively with parties across industries and levels of sophistication, offering insight into both legal strategy and the human considerations that influence difficult decisions.

Before joining Signature Resolution, Julianne served as a lead trial attorney at Ogletree Deakins and held in-house counsel roles at a Fortune 500 company and a leading entertainment company. She has tried over 60 cases to verdict and participated in countless mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations. Her decades as a trial lawyer inform her ability to anticipate turning points, identify risk, and help parties evaluate outcomes with clarity and confidence.

Outside her practice, Julianne has been dedicated to teaching and mentoring. She has trained associates and legal staff in trial advocacy and litigation skills and has served on the boards of several professional and non-profit organizations, including the Northern California Fraud Investigators Association and Forever Found, an organization dedicated to preventing and addressing human trafficking. She was honored with a Trial Attorney of the Year award, recognition she values as a reflection of her commitment to excellence and client services. Julianne is also a founder of multiple high-tech emerging growth start-up companies, providing her with a strong foundation for working with entrepreneurs, private investors, venture capital firms, banks, manufacturers, retailers, small business owners, non-profits, and individuals in employment-related matters.

Julianne brings to her neutral work the same qualities that defined her litigation career: careful preparation, thoughtful communication, and a commitment to helping parties move forward with understanding and purpose. Her depth of experience and trusted judgement make her a valued resource for resolving challenging and complex disputes.
