Biography

Judge Stone works to resolve matters involving business and commercial contracts, employment, entertainment, insurance, intellectual property, personal injury, and real estate. As a neutral, Judge Stone had one of the fastest starts in the ADR industry, quickly becoming a sought-after choice among both counsel and their clients. Throughout his over three decades of service, Judge Stone has always made intense preparation and involvement with his cases the primary focus of his work, and he has endeavored to serve and honor his local legal community both in and out of the courtroom.

Prior to working as a neutral, Judge Stone served as a judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court for 15 years, where he presided over unlimited jurisdiction civil cases, handling some of the Court’s most difficult and intricate jury trials. He also served Los Angeles for another 14 years as a Deputy District Attorney.

During his tenure as a judge, he was the Assistant Supervising Judge of the West District and managed its settlement program. In that position, his affable demeanor, bright legal mind, and remarkable tenacity helped him to achieve equitable resolutions in a variety of complex and high-stakes civil disputes.
