Biography

Ellie K. Vilendrer is an esteemed mediator and arbitrator, recognized for her leadership as Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Dispute Resolution and her legislative advocacy for effective mediation practices. Over the course of her nineteen-year career, she has built a diverse practice rooted in complex commercial litigation. She has also represented employees in wage and hour, discrimination, and sexual harassment matters, and has spent more than a decade advising technology companies as outside general counsel, intellectual property counsel, and privacy counsel.

A defining aspect of Vilendrer’s career has been her extensive work with survivors of sexual abuse. Both as a neutral in mass tort litigation and formerly as counsel to survivors, she brings a trauma-informed approach and deep sensitivity to emotionally-charged disputes.

Vilendrer holds the distinguished certifications of Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and is co-author of the privacy law chapter in the Representing the Ongoing Business Deskbook (3rd Edition). In 2013, she co-founded a technology company that pioneered an AI-powered predictive platform for app features and marketing campaigns. An AI Ambassador for the American Arbitration Association (AAA), she serves on its Commercial, Technology, Healthcare, and Employment arbitration panels.

Vilendrer’s mediation style is characterized by meticulous preparation, creative and collaborative problem solving, and the ability to build trust. Her experience navigating complex legal and financial issues gives her unique insight into the strategic thinking of both attorneys and corporate decision-makers.   Her energy, optimism, and steadfast focus on results set her apart in the field.
