Biography

Ellie K. Vilendrer, an esteemed attorney and mediator renowned for her unwavering dedication to dispute resolution, brings a wealth of expertise to Signature Resolution’s neutral panel. 

Vilendrer’s mediation approach is defined by thorough preparation, active listening, and the establishment of trust with all parties. She excels at understanding complex legal and financial issues, offering candid insights, and fostering creative, collaborative solutions that promote long-term, mutually beneficial outcomes. Her energy, optimism, and steadfast focus on results set her apart in the field.

Throughout her distinguished career, Vilendrer has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and advised clients in commercial, employment, and intellectual property law. In 2013, Vilendrer founded Vilendrer Law PC, serving technology companies from startups to publicly traded giants, for over a decade. Her roles have included outside general counsel, intellectual property counsel, and privacy counsel, showcasing her versatility and deep understanding of the tech industry. Prior to establishing her own firm, Vilendrer practiced business and civil litigation from 2007-2013 at firms in Orange County and Minneapolis. 

Vilendrer has been a dedicated practitioner of ADR over the last several years, as an arbitrator and mediator with the American Arbitration Association, and as a mediator with the United States District Court, Central District of California, the Orange County Superior Court, and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. Vilendrer’s dedication to dispute resolution is further demonstrated through her leadership in the American Bar Association (ABA) as an officer of the Section of Dispute Resolution and formerly as co-chair of its Early Dispute Resolution Committee (2020 -2024).  She was instrumental in the ABA’s adoption of Resolution 500 in February 2024, which urges the increased informed and voluntary use of Early Dispute Resolution. She also testified at the California Senate and Assembly Judiciary Committees in favor of SB 1141 (mediation: amount in controversy).

Her exceptional skills and contributions have been recognized with honors such as being repeatedly named a Southern California Super Lawyer in ADR and earning an AV-rating as an attorney. She is certified as a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and co-authored the privacy law chapter in the “Representing the Ongoing Business Deskbook.” In 2014, she co-founded a tech company that developed an AI-powered platform for predictive insights into app features and marketing campaigns, reflecting her entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking.

Beyond her legal career, Vilendrer and her family have produced award-winning short films promoting peace and human rights, showcased at the United Nations and international film festivals.
