Price K. Kent brings a dual-discipline background to mediation that combines a 20-year career as a trial attorney following an earlier career as a professional oboist in the entertainment industry. Drawing on both disciplines, Price offers unique insight into interpersonal dynamics and creative industry nuances that often drive complex disputes while helping parties and insurers evaluate their positions and surface the underlying interests required to reach resolution. With experience as a trial attorney representing both plaintiffs and defendants, Price provides a mediation perspective centered on the practical reality that a fair resolution almost always outweighs the cost and risk of trial. She also knows that some cases need to be tried. She has served as lead counsel in trials, arbitrations, and appeals across California, handling everything from modest two-party disputes to high-stakes, multi-party litigation.

Price established her first law practice in 2006 with a focus on transactions, drafting and negotiating contracts in the entertainment industry, securing music licensing agreements for businesses in the entertainment-gaming industry, and assisting businesses and individual artists in securing and protecting their rights and assets in intellectual property. Building on this legal experience, Price joined Marcin Lambirth, LLP in 2008, where she quickly rose to lead trial counsel, handling a broad civil litigation practice covering labor and employment, copyright and trademark, banking, real property, business torts, medical and dental malpractice, wrongful death, Qui Tam actions, and government tort matters across the public and private sectors.

Price later founded her own trial practice in 2012, electing to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in matters she genuinely believed in. At the Law Offices of Price K. Kent, Inc., Price built a successful litigation practice in areas including labor and employment (wrongful termination, retaliation, sexual harassment, discrimination, and wage-and-hour), defamation, right of publicity, copyright and trademark, probate, elder abuse, and real estate matters involving contracts, negligence, nuisance, and trespass. In addition, Price has successfully represented clients in writs and appeals. Drawing on her experience in hundreds of mediations, Price has developed a practical sense of where negotiations tend to falter. Through years of teaching experience in oboe performance followed by trial advocacy, Price recognizes that people absorb and process information in distinct ways and can swiftly identify these variations, ensuring that she meets each person where they are rather than working from a script, a perspective she also brings to the San Diego Inn of Court as its Program Chair.
